Protect Your Investments With a Silver Coin

When I was little, my brother and I would often visit our grandparents on the weekends. Every time, my grandfather used to give a silver coin to each of us: a silver dollar for my brother and a half dollar for me. We largely disregarded the act since everybody knew it wasn't cool to use them anymore. Back then, I would have much rather had quarters that would go into a video game machine at the arcade. Now I wish I had those old coins back.

KENNEDY SILVER DOLLARS

When a friend told me recently that he had his half dollar collection valued and that his 1964 Kennedy silver half dollars were worth over five dollars each, I thought I would cry. I know as a child it is likely that if I lost one silver coin that I probably lost a thousand of those things over the years. My brother's coins remain in a safe deposit box to this day and he refuses to tell me how much they are worth.

A few years ago, I rediscovered the value of the silver coin when a friend suggested that I invest in silver instead of the stock market. I laughed at first but after he presented me with the facts, I realized that he was on to something.

SILVER IS IN SHORT SUPPLY

There is a low, limited amount of silver in the world today. Unlike gold, which is largely used for jewelry and adornment only, silver is being used at an unprecedented rate in the production of televisions and cell phones. That means the value can only go up as the supply goes down. Remember the law of supply vs. demand from school?

Precious metals like gold and silver will retain their value far longer than other investment alternatives - just look at the nose dive that everyone's 401k took when the stock market tanked in 2008. Don't you want to find out how to secure your finances against the loss of this type of downfall in the future?

Ready to learn some of what I found out about the history of the silver coin and why it is such a fantastic way to protect your overall investment strategy? Download my free eBook called, Guide to Silver Coin Investing, and learn that and much more. Or you could just continue to invest in companies that may or may not even exist on the stock market this time next year.

Many people are curious about how to protect their money, but often overlook the many benefits of silver coins. Take a look at our Free Guide to get started today.

Hearing Aids To Best Suit Your Needs

Studies show that one-tenth of the American population is hearing-impaired. Over the years, hearing aids have helped a great deal in eliminating this deficiency.

Hearing aids are small audio devices which are attached to the ears. Most models now are "hidden" to a casual observer. They offer a superior sound quality which helps lessen, if not eliminate, the loss of hearing.

As technology evolves, the science behind manufacturing hearing aids have become more and more advanced.

Here are the three basic types of hearing aids:

1. Conventional hearing aids

These are the very first types and brands of hearing aids which were realeased in the market.

Although not as technologically advanced as the programmable digital hearing aids, the conventional type can be adjusted in a way that will fit the user's needs.

With this type, the volume is manually adjusted by the user. The sound can be turned up or down, depending on the softness or loudness of the source of sound.

The only minor disadvantage of this type of hearing aids is that if a person's hearing loss level improves or worsens, it must be sent back to the manufacturer so that adjustments can be made. This can be quite inconvenient for the user.

2. Programmable hearing aids

This is more advanced in terms of technology, as compared to the conventional type.

Programmable hearing aids have adjustable circuits which may be adjusted, depending on the user's level of hearing.

The volume control is automatic, making life easier for the patient.

3. Digital hearing aids

Depending on the patient's needs, a digital hearing aid may be ordered to suit a specific situation.

This is by far the best and most convenient type to use.

There are hearing health care professionals whose job is to find the hearing aid that will be beneficial for the user.

The patient's lifestyle and level of hearing loss is considered when looking for the best hearing aid to buy.

Digital hearing aids also feature an automatic volume control.

However, it may take one or two visits to a health care professional before the settings of the hearing aid can be adjusted to the user's satisfaction.

Physically, this type of hearing aid is easier to wear and is "kinder" to the ears.

The circuit within the hearing aid automatically increases or decreases the level of sound.

There is a microphone and an amplifier that gathers and adjusts the sound respectively.

Finally, the speaker transmits the byproduct of the altered and digitally-enhanced sound to the user's ears.

The downside is that this type of hearing aid is more expensive than the programmable and conventional hearing aids.

Still, once you have invested in a digital hearing aid, it will surely be convenient for you and will fit into any lifestyle.

4. Disposable hearing aids

This type offers the sound quality of a conventional hearing aid and is more cost-effective than its more technologically-advanced counterparts.

Disposable hearing aids have a shorter shelf-life. They can last 40 days at most, and once the battery expires, a new one should be purchased.

To choose a hearing aid that is right for you, make sure that you consult your ear doctor or otologist/audiologist.

When consulting a professional to choose the right hearing aid for you, give them an overview of your lifestyle and budget to determine the best hearing aid that will suit your needs.

Finally, try it out for a few days and if you find that the hearing aid that you bought does not fit your ear, your needs and your way of living, go back to your health care professional so that another type can be purchased.

Marketing you web site - Part 4 - Using newsletters, search engines and the yellow pages

Using Newsletters to market your web site

As I stated before, it can take several times for a potential client to begin to trust you. You also want to keep the clients that you have. Part of your marketing plan will be to stay in touch with your clients. Letting them know what is happening, any sales that you may be holding, or new products/services that you may have. A great way of keeping in touch is with a newsletter.

What is a newsletter? Simply put it is a communication between you and your subscribers. By offering information that the client may find helpful, you are offering a service to them that is of value. Immense value in fact. Your information may save them time and money. Building a trust between you and the client. This trust will turn to sales over time.

So what does it take to get a newsletter off the ground so to speak? Two things: First is to have the clients/customer sign up for the newsletter. This can be a simple email or mailing program. RD Web hosting has a mailing list package that is part of the hosting plan. It is simple yet effective. Click here to see it in action. The second thing is a newsletter. This can be written in any word processing program or in your email software. It doesn't have to be long and complicated.

Let's say for example you have found a new recipe. Something that you think your subscribers would be interested in. You type up the recipe along with an introduction and paste it into your email program or mailing list software. From there you send it to each of your subscribers. Cost? A few minutes of time. No printing or mailing charges required. Oh, by the way, in that little letter you sent to each subscriber, you place a little advertising for your web site or store. Or maybe you have 'sold' some space to a friend or business associate who may have something of interest to your subscribers as well.

Newsletters are a great and inexpensive advertising medium. Just remember to place articles of interest in the newsletter and not all advertising. There is nothing worse than getting mail that is all ads. Over time people will stop reading it if they don't find the information useful.

Using Search engines and marketing your web site

Search Engines (SE) are the mystery of the Internet. So many different types even from the users standpoint. There are over 225,000 search engines and directories on the Internet. How do they work and why should you care?

Basically, a search engine is a database of web pages that contains information about that page such as: where it can be found (URL); what is on it (Keywords); when it was last indexed; and a description (Title) of the web page. When you go to a search engine and type in your request (query) the database engine pulls up the data that matches your request. So a search engine is only as good as the data in it. How do we get that data? Most search engines are copies of the major databases. There are only a few real databases out there. So lets talk general terms. Data can be entered by the owner of the website. This information is then indexed and your site is listed. In the past that is how things worked. But we soon found out that people will do anything to get their website listed at the top of the page where they will be more likely to have the searcher click on their site. The owner of the database needed a better way. So programs where written called spiders to go out on the web and find websites. Then catalog each page of the website and enter that information into the database. Today that process is still going on. However, again the owners of the database have tried to make sure that the website information is correct and have been constantly changing the formula used to determine how a website should be listed based on it keywords, headers, titles, content, alt tags, etc. Some database owners even have people visit the website and make a judgment call. All of this is to insure that when you enter a search phrase into the search engine you receive the type of information you want. If you are happy with the search engine you will continue to use it and the advertisements placed on the search engine will help pay for the site.

Search engine technology is changing daily. To try and cover it here would be a waste of your time as it will be out of date tomorrow. So I have listed a site that does nothing more than follow and report on this technology. It is:
Search Engine Watch

What is important for us as website owners is know how to make sure we are properly listed and learn how to get the best listing on the search engines. So lets see... there are 1440 minutes per day and 225,000 search engines. That means if we spend just 10 minutes per search engine entering in our website information it will only take us1562 days to enter the information. But you should submit your website at least every other month, so you can see that is not going to work. There are all kinds of software and website services that will do this for you. But remember there are really only about 4 major databases that feed all those search engines. Even when your website is listed you may not have a very good placement due to other factors. As I said the database owners are constantly changing the rules. So what can you do?

Start with proper design of your website. Good content that is kept up to date. The spiders will find you over time and your ranking will improve as your use of keywords and content are evaluated. Other things that will help is the linking to your site from others. If you have good information, others will point their website to yours which will help your ranking in the search engines. All in all, this will take months to accomplish. But you want to start making money today!

Another way to get listed on search engines faster and at the top of the rankings is with PPC or Pay Per Click. PPC Search Engines charge you each time a user clicks your listing and goes to your website. In addition, many PPC have made arrangements with other search engines to place the paying website URL at the top of the listing (these are called sponsor sites). What does that mean for you as a website owner? Well, it means lots of traffic to your website that you can sell to over and over again. What will it cost? Hmmm how many secrets to give away in a free book :). Oh well, why not! The cost is dependent on how many other people want to be in the top listing. For example: Overture.com has agreements with Yahoo, MSN, AOL and others that the 3 top bidders for keywords will be listed in the top 3 spots for that keyword on each of these search engines. By the way, as of December 2002 those 3 search engines accounted for over 80 percent of all searches on the web. Think that might be a nice place to have your website listed? Ok, back to the example. Let’s say I sell training, I research the keywords and find out that the top 3 positions go for $1.50, $1.45, $1.00 per click to my website. I have a product that sells for $795 per course. I could bid $1.51 and take the top spot. But remember I will have to pay the PPC for each person that clicks on my link. It can quickly run into the hundreds of dollars. I could also pay $1.01 and take the 3rd position saving me $.50 per click. Not all keywords are that expensive...some are more :). Actually you may find your keywords very inexpensive around 10- 20 cents per click.
PPC also do not care about keywords, titles, headers, content etc. So I can write a more compelling description here that will call to action the searcher to click on my site. BUT, once there I want to do everything I can to get them to leave their email address in exchange for my free product or gift. I do not want them coming back though PPC again. It will cost me more money that way. If I have their email address I can send them my link in other correspondence. We will talk about that later in auto responders.

Here is a list of some of the PPC. Since they drive qualified traffic to your site I would recommend using all of them. You will find your keywords cheaper on the less used sites but that is still traffic that you can sell to.

www.overture.com
www.google.com
www.findwhat.com
www.looksmart.com
www.7search.com

This is a lot of work. I know I have spent hours on Overture alone trying to monitor the website, keywords, and ranking.
I have said before in this course that automation is the key. The more we can automate the more time we have to spend on other things... maybe the family?

Using Yellow pages to market your web site

If you have a local business then you probably already have a business phone number. Most business phone services come with a listing in the local yellow pages. Be sure to list you website address. This is much more powerful form of advertising then just placing your address and phone number. Remember your site can offer specials, gather email or contact information, give away items or gifts to your customers to get them to visit your store, tell the customer so much more than you could afford to do in the phone book itself. Plus many people will bookmark your site and return time and time again once they see all the great information that you have available on the site.

I hope you have found some useful information in this package. I have strived to put together information about most of the different methods you can use to market you business.

Useful Information On Hearing Aids

Hearing aids have been manufactured and designed for people who need assistance to make sounds accessible. They cannot correct hearing loss but can enhance and help you to improve your lifestyle. Not only could they improve on hearing sounds but may help with your speech.

Hearing aids are electronic and are operated with a battery sensing devices which can improve all levels hearing needs by adjusting the appropriate signal. Majority of hearing aids today have two appliances which work independently. The hearing aid could help with your speech as you should hear clearer and how the words are spoken.

When you go to choose a hearing aid the audiologist should look at your hearing ability, take into account home and work situations, medical conditions, any physical limitations and cosmetic preferences which should provide them with enough information and understanding to suggest the best hearing aid for you. Remember you must be comfortable with the hearing aid and be able to ask if you need a different one.

Amplification can be a reasonably effective treatment for people who are hard of hearing but it has been met with resistance. Amplification can assist with speech understanding even in a busy and noisy location.

Most people don't understand loss of hearing whether it be sensor neural or conductive, they tend to speak slower or louder thinking this will help the person hear and understand. With a hearing aid no one will need to be treated any different which could save uncomfortable and embarrassing situations especially with strangers and help you to lead a normal life.

Breakthrough Technology Helps Chiropractors And Other Health Providers Bring Chinese Medicine Into The 21st Century

Every day thousands of people head to their chiropractor’s office for an adjustment. They have a variety of complaints and ailments and the chiropractor is there to assist them in feeling better. But what if chiropractic could be combined with other alternative therapies to assist these patients to obtain optimum health and wellness?

That’s the question that chief medical officer of Intemedica, John Diamond, is answering. Dr. Diamond, a physician trained as a pathologist, got into alternative healing almost twenty years ago as a result of his own health crises. “As far as I’m concerned, complementary and alternative medicine takes care of 80% of health issues in the general population.”

Diamond believes the medical field is about to undergo an amazing transformation in the way it operates and delivers healing to patients. He believes primary care physicians will become obsolete by the year 2015 and in their place will spring alternative healing concepts such as chiropractors, Chinese medicine practitioners, acupuncturists and naturopaths. This is in reaction to the insurance crises going on in our country today. “The way medicine is going right now we’re moving away from the disease model. We’re moving to what we call the stress and coping model.” Diamond believes that alternative and natural healing methods will best complement these changing models.

Dr. Diamond, working with other individuals, has come up with a new and fascinating way to utilize this stress and coping model with what he calls GSR biofeedback, a process similar to electro acupuncture. By simply placing a hand in an electrical cradle, the machine interrogates the patient’s body and provides a wealth of information about where the stresses are occurring in the body. Connected to a computer program, information is also compiled regarding which specific formulas of Chinese herbs would best be suited to help the patient with whatever their specific needs are – and all in about three and a half minutes.

How can chiropractors utilize this technology in their offices and how can it help them not only increase value for their patients but also increase their bottom line? According to Diamond it’s simple. “We have a whole system that is very easily put into anybody’s office with minimal outlay,” says Diamond.

Once doctors have this equipment and stock in their offices, it takes only about thirty minutes to learn how to use it. All it takes is the ability to point and click the mouse. All updates to the software are done via the internet, as well as anything that’s added to the program.

But can this program really add value to the chiropractic practice? Do alternative healing methods really work? According to Diamond the answer to both questions is a resounding yes. Any staff member, such as a chiropractic assistant, can operate the equipment, which leaves the chiropractor free to do adjustments. Also, Diamond has had independent data taken on the effectiveness of his healing methods and found that out of 100,000 patient visits over the last eighteen years, the average efficacy of his formulas was 86% - some formulas were as high as 97%. He’s also found that with the minimum outlay of investment, the average practice can see anywhere between $5-8000 a month in extra income while providing added value for their patients.

Concerning any negative side effects, Diamond also has found there are fairly few. With sensitive patients the Chinese herbs can cause gastric irritation and in some patients there may be a problem with over detoxification, but these negatives are easily resolved. Says Diamond, “Traditional Chinese medicine is easily adapted to our physiology because it’s plant based. Anything plant based we’re very used to responding to. It’s not really an issue.”

For more information about this program, contact Intemedica at http://www.intemedica.com. Says Diamond, “Right now 50 million of the U.S. population is without any kind of health care. You have to keep yourself healthy to survive in this stressful and toxic world.”

The Secret Of Discount Hearing Aids

Would you believe that hearing loss occurs in more than 90% of the world's population? Many people tend to think that hearing loss is only applicable in those individuals who suffer from complete deafness in one or both ears. This is not the case. How many persons, especially among the elderly, have you met who required you to shout in their ear for the two of you to understand each other? These people may not be classified as deaf, but they can still use a hearing aid. Many people who suffer from hearing loss tend to adopt an off-hand attitude about their deficiency. Why spend when I can just tell others to speak louder and enunciate better? They do not realize that they are missing out on a lot. However, if there was a way for them to get discount hearing aids, they would probably give this a second thought.

Discount hearing aids are available in many places. There are several online businesses that offer to save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars on them. Wholesale shops also offer them. You will realize that there is really much to be said about the profit margin in retail pricing based on how much discount hearing aids cost.

The price of the hearing aids varies depending on many factors, such as style, brand, model, et cetera. Because of their alliance with the leading manufacturers of hearing aids, wholesale stores can offer behind the ear and in the ear versions with as much discount as 75%.

Discount hearing aids are also available through insurance programs. Some insurance agencies are affiliated with certain hearing aid manufacturers and can offer them to their clients. The program usually is not limited to just their members; even the member's parents and grandparents can avail low cost hearing aids through them. The service may also include a free hearing screening, complimentary follow-up testing, a year's supply of batteries, repair or loss warranty, and a money-back guarantee.

Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover the provision of discount hearing aids. This has been a continuing debate as many feel that Medicare should alter its stand on this. As long as this is the case, you just have to be extra resourceful. To avail of discount hearing aids, do your research and seek advice from your audiologist.

The Top Three Barbie Games

While those are fun tasks, there is much more to Barbie games than most parents realize. If you decide to bite the plastic bullet and spend an afternoon playing Barbie games with your youngster, you can expect her to be playing one of the top three Barbies games enjoyed by young girls.

Dress Up

The most common game, especially with younger girls, is a simple game of dress up. Barbies come with a huge assortment of outfits, and there is nothing more rewarding than putting together an outfit and seeing the final product on your very own Barbie doll. Children learning to dress themselves might actually use Barbie dolls as a way to practice the critical skills, but for the most part, dressing up Barbie is just plain fun.

If you want to give your child a special treat, you don't need to buy her a new Barbie doll to add to the collection. Rather than spending your money on one doll with one outfit, surprise her with five new outfits that she can mix and match for her current Barbie doll. You might just have a young fashionista in the making.

Character Play

Once your child starts developing an active imagination, you can expect to hear voices coming from her Barbies - provided by your child, of course. This game is character play where each Barbie is assigned a role, or many roles, in an unfolding drama. The Princess Barbie needs help from the Friendly Barbie to defeat the Evil Barbie in time to hop in the Barbie Jeep and pick up Ken for a hot Barbie date.

When you play with your child during this sort of Barbie game, be sure you listen and understand the game and story before jumping in. Some children become incredibly agitated when the story changes unexpectedly. You might think it's funny to add Super Barbie to the mix, but she'll likely see it as an intrusion. Rather than grabbing a doll and making a new character, get her instructions on which character you should be in the current game she's playing.

Online Barbie Games

The newest form of Barbie game takes your child online. There are countless Barbie games online that let your child dress up Barbie in more outfits than you can imagine. The latest fashions are available on websites featuring dress up games, and with new outfits and dolls added daily, it's not hard to see why spending time online with Barbie is a new favorite activity of young girls.

Playing online Barbie games is simple enough. You should let your daughter have creative control, but you can encourage even more creativity by making up a story about why the doll is wearing a particular outfit or dressing different dolls for different roles in a story she's been working on. Then you can print the completed Barbies and have custom puppets ready to take on their designed characters.

My Superhero

Greg Reyes saved my life.

My name is Dana. I was born in San Francisco, and raised in Marin County. I am 38 years old currently residing in Kirkland Washington.

I met Greg on his 40th birthday. I was working as an Event Producer for Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco, and planned Greg's surprise party with his lovely wife Penny. For the 8 months I worked on preparing for that event, I interviewed Greg's friends, family and coworkers to get an understanding of who he is as a person. Very quickly, I began to see and feel the positive effects this man has on the people around him.

It wasn't until 2 years later that I personally experienced Greg's generous spirit myself. You see, I had a mysterious illness that rendered me unable to continue my work as a producer. I began to experience severe neurological symptoms to the point of seizures. After many doctor's visits, it was determined that I had Lyme disease. What was most disturbing about this news was that because I had gone 5 years without treatment, I was now in the late stages of the disease. At 35, and at the height of my career, I had no choice but to leave the job I loved so well.

A year after I had to leave my job due to this illness, my state disability ended. I was still very ill, penniless and lost without proper care - and quite honestly ready to give up.

In a desperate attempt to survive, I sent out a letter to family and friends asking for help. Greg and Penny responded with a generous donation and a kind letter of support. With their donation I was able to get a barrage of critical tests that would finally determine my treatment plan and get me on the road to recovery.

Greg and Penny's interest in me didn't stop there. They have stayed in touch and kept up with my treatments and progress. While he barely knew me, Greg and Penny stepped in where my family could not. Their concern and care has gone way beyond the financial.

In the fall of '05, I was asked to be a character in a documentary film on Lyme disease; directed by Andy Abrahams Wilson.

Again, Greg took action and stepped up with a sizeable (anonymous) donation to the film. His contribution could save hundreds of thousands of people from the pain and suffering of Lyme. In addition, he took his time to offer me his counsel and support on how to retrieve my life and navigate my way through this illness.

I remember when I was starting to get anxious about how I would make a living and was looking to him for guidance on possible business ideas, he said,

"Let's get you well first so you can have the impact I know you can have"

That stuck with me. He saw me. He said "Let's". He could see my potential. And he took me on.

His giving is selfless. Nowhere does he gain from helping me. It is just in his soul. Greg inspires people to be their best. He is a rare and valuable human being.

Even though he was facing enormous challenges of his own, his commitment has been unwavering. With the Reyes' continued support I have received the care of one of the finest specialist in the world for this devastating disease. For the first time in nearly a decade, 1 have a chance at a wonderful life. Now, deeply in love and soon to be married, 1 have been resurrected.

Your Honor, I asked you to please use your heart to inform your mind when making your sentencing decision. Please hold together this beautiful family. Not just for their own lives and personal happiness, but for the many lives they touch and enrich.

The Right Device Can Help You Hear Again

The human body is hands down the most incredible creation on this earth and that is saying a lot. The thing is that even as perfect as our bodies are there are inherent flaws. Everyday we discover one more thing that can happen inside ourselves but there are things that go wrong that we have known about for many years. Our five senses that we are born with begin to fade as we get older and there is very little that we can do about it. We can do what we can to prevent our hearing form being lost but it is still likely that it will deteriorate as we get older. Luckily we can start to lessen the effects of it by using technology.

As with every other area in life if we find something that needs to be fixed with our body or with the earth science and technology is there for us. There are some wonderful inventions that can basically minimize the effects of our hearing loss to the point that we will feel like super heroes with super magnified hearing. Not all aids are for everyone so we recommend that you seek medical advice to determine how much of your loss can be corrected with technology.

We have all seen people go deaf and never get to hear the sound of a child laughing or their spouse saying they love them. Thanks to medical science we may never have to meet anyone like that again in our lives.

The Ups and Downs of Downloadable DS Games

What is a DS?
The DS, or Nintendo DS, is an advanced technology apparatus that plays video games on a duel screen monitor. It is a handheld game system that allows gaming enthusiasts to bring high quality games with them when they are on the road or otherwise unable to play a counsel system. However, with the DS, has become a standalone system that has most gamers itching to try it. It was developed and produced by the Nintendo organization and was released in 2004 in multiple countries including Canada, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom. The clamshell design is similar to the Game Boy Advance, which was the predecessor to the Nintendo DS, but the Nintendo DS has duel screens with the lower one being designed as a touch screen.

Download DS Games
Though there are some problems with downloadable DS games, they hardly outweigh the possible positives when it comes to these games. Downloadable DS games are games that can be downloaded off the wireless internet that is available for the Nintendo DS. These games are similar to WiiWare games in that they are not usually full length games, but they are still fantastically composed and capable of providing hours of gaming fun. There are even some free downloadable DS games available, but these are rarer than the purchased ones.
A few cons to downloadable DS games include the fact that the download speed is relatively poor. When downloading a game for the DS, it can take many minutes, even hours in some extreme cases. This can be more than a little frustrating for those that want to just play the game.
Another problem is that there is a possibility for an adware infiltration which can potentially do damage to the DS. However, this is only caused by poor usage of the wireless internet system.
These few cons are not enough to make the whole of the system poor. The Nintendo DS has many games online that may be downloaded on the SD card of the system. This can allow numerous downloadable games to be purchased or downloaded on a single system. The downloadable games for the DS are also very fun and very addicting. They can provide just as much if not more fun that any retail game for the DS or a consol alike. Once the games are downloaded there are usually no problems with operation.

The Essential of Good Psychic Readings

There are many questions that can arise in a person's life that cannot be easily answered with the standard methods of a physical reality. Matters of the spirit in particular require seeking into that area of our existence that is called the soul. For one who is not confident in their own intuitive abilities there is the option to acquire a psychic reading from a person more experienced with the psychic phenomena.

Finding a competent and, above all, real psychic is essential to gaining a useful understanding of these matters. Because psychic ability cannot be measured in a scientific way, finding the true psychics among the charlatans and confidence artists can be difficult. There are a few ways to determine if the results of a psychic reading can be trusted as useful information.

A true psychic will at once focus on your problem, not on how much they are hoping to be paid for their efforts. While the trappings of the mystic can help set a mood for accessing the psychic levels of understanding, they are not a necessary element. A psychic of real ability can divine as easily from a saucer of ink-stained water as an expensive crystal ball. Whether the psychic you choose seeks their answers from tarot cards, runestones or even a trance state meditation, the interpretation they offer should be clear and understandable. Someone who goes on about "signs and portents" or uses scare tactics to warn you about things only they can shield you from are most likely making it up as they go along.

Life is not always safe and a true psychic will tell you if the reading shows a danger in your future. However, the true psychic will attempt to direct you to an understanding of how you can correct the situation. A true psychic understands they are only a tool for you to improve your own life and condition by pointing out things you may have not seen for yourself. A true psychic reading should inform you of how a situation was created to bring you to this point and offer options for how to resolve it. No psychic should tell you what to do.

It is essential that a good psychic reading be presented in ideas and terminology that you can understand and can relate to. When you get a psychic reading, you should be allowed to ask questions about the results. A true psychic knows they are acting somewhat as a psychiatrist in that they help you use the information gleaned from the psychic reading to take control of your own actions regarding the matter at hand. A true psychic reader will help you do this in a way that makes you feel comfortable about your own decisions.

Choosing specific greenhouse lighting can be somewhat tricky. Here are five important factors to consider when making your selections.

1. Type of greenhouse — Before buying greenhouse lighting, you must understand the kind of greenhouse that you have. Is it a commercial greenhouse or a personal one? Knowing what type of greenhouse that you have will determine what kind of lighting to choose. For instance, if you have a commercial greenhouse, it is best that you buy lighting that is created to endure humid, adverse conditions that are commonly found in commercial conservatories. Research your options before making any purchase.

2. Length of use — The duration of light use in greenhouses based on a “photoperiod”— the period in which the light will be used may vary. For example, you may use lighting for a “12-hour photoperiod.” This means that within 24 hours cycle, lighting will be used for 12 hours and 12 hours with no light at all. It is important to buy a light that meets your specific usage needs. Find out what your needs are before making your selections.

3. Purpose — Buy a light that will focus on your desired results. For instance, if you want to motivate the growth of your orchids, it is best to buy a light that will put more weight on the “spectrum colors” like the red, blue and the “far-red wavelengths.” The colors of the light have notable effects on the plant growth. Not all light will produce the desired results. Talk to experts before purchasing.

4. Electrical efficiency — Opt for lighting products that provide optimum effect without having to compromise the amount of energy that they consume. It’s better to buy lights that are efficient and can still conserve as little energy as possible. Ensure that the lighting you buy meets your electrical efficiency requirements.

5. Heat — Remember that lighting should only be used where it is needed. A light that emits more heat as it releases light can be very harmful. Too much heat on a plant will trigger its death. For example, it’s not a good idea to buy an incandescent bulb because it gives out too much heat. Make sure you understand how much heat each lighting option produces before purchasing.

Lighting is an important factor in a plant’s development. Carefully consider the kinds of light you use in your greenhouse in order to ensure the quality of plant growth that you want to achieve.

The Basics of Hearing Aid Repair

A regular part of owning hearing aids is repair and maintenance, especially in the first year of use. But, proper handling of your new hearing aids can save you the trouble and money.

Why Do Hearing Aids Need Repairs?

One of the biggest reasons why hearing aids need to be repaired is simply earwax and moisture. This accounts for 3/4 of all hearing aid repairs, and you can prevent it. Earwax builds up on hearing aids, especially smaller models. This is why it is particularly important to clean and take care of your hearing aids properly.

Clean your hearing aids with a warm cloth or tissue. Never let water come into contact with them, because they contain sensitive electronic parts.

Aside from getting dirty, hearing aids most often need to be repaired because of the electronics. Receivers often need to be replaced. Over a long period of time, electronics wear out, and your hearing aids may need new wiring.

The best way to save money on costly repairs is to handle your hearing aids properly, and make sure you are keeping earwax and other dirt out of them.

How Often Do I Need To Get Repairs?

Usually, smaller hearing aids need more repair and maintenance than larger ones. This means that CIC, or completely-in-the-canal hearing aids are the most often in need of repair. It's not because they are fragile and break easily, but because they require more regular maintenance than other types of hearing aids. They are also most sensitive to wax buildup.

All hearing aids need regular repairs or maintenance. With in-the-ear hearing aids, you may have to have something on it repaired every year or 15 months. In-the-canal hearing aids will need to be repaired more frequently, from 9 months to a year. And, completely-in-the-canal hearing aids will probably have to be worked on every 7 to 9 months.

Where Should I Take Them?

It is usually recommended that you take your hearing aids to an audiologist for repair, rather than sending them to the supplier.

How Much Will It Cost?

It varies quite a bit. Older hearing aids cost more to fix than newer ones, because the parts may be hard to find. Also, you will have to pay more if you have to send it to the manufacturer for repairs, rather than having it done in-house.

You should expect to pay at least $100 for circuit changes, although it could be much more.
Warrantees And Guarantees

When buying a hearing aid, make sure that your dealer carries a good warrantee. Warrantees differ by manufacturer, but you should be able to find one that covers repairs for an extended period of time. All warrantees will cover repairs in case of shoddy workmanship or faulty parts.

There should at least be a one-year full coverage warranty. When you first start wearing hearing aids, there will be some routine check-ups and maintenance, and they should be covered by your supplier.

Hearing aid repairs are covered under some insurance plans, but are not usually covered. If you wear hearing aids, you should definitely look for insurance that will pay for your maintenance and repairs.

The most common causes for hearing aid repairs, moisture and earwax buildup, are entirely preventable. Make sure to clean them with each use, and you can save money!

General information on hearing aids

Most people don’t understand loss of hearing whether it be sensor neural or conductive, they tend to speak slower or louder thinking this will help the person hear and understand. With a hearing aid no one will need to be treated any different which could save uncomfortable and embarrassing situations especially with strangers and help you to lead a normal life.

Now is the Time to Earn a Degree in Medical Assisting

The working world is a scary place in America right now: massive layoffs have led to the highest levels of unemployment across the land since the Great Depression and the economy is recovering at a snail's pace at best. Career changers and new high school graduates have to choose their further education carefully in order to be more employable when they re-enter the work force. The health care industry is one of the few that shows no signs of slowing: now is the time to earn a degree in medical assisting.

Installing stairlifts

Installing a stairlift into the home is a complex and skilled task and should only be tackled by a trained professional who will ensure a correct fit and user safety.

A stairlift basically consists of two elements;

1) The Track -Straight or Curved rail leading up the stairs.
2) The Powered Chair - Comprising of a seat, footrest, armrests and control unit mounted on the track.

Prior to instillation the majority of stair lift companies will complete a survey to evaluate the environment that the stairlift will be fitted prior to confirming the final quotation.

As part of this survey the engineer will assess the condition of the stairs as the track or rail will be secured to it and so will be subject to the weight of stairlift and the user.

If the stairs are sound the first stage of an installation is to lay the track on the side of the stairs which offers the best access and user experience (normally discussed with customer during the site survey). A track is normally fixed to the stairs by using brackets screwed directly into the stair tread (the top of the stair). The track can be supported entirely by brackets or rest on the stairs themselves depending on the make and model. A track is normally supplied by the manufacture in smaller sections which are connected by the engineer to complete the installation.

When the track has been successfully installed the motor is generally installed next and the wiring work is completed.

Finally the seat is simply attached to the track and the motor and the stairlift will be ready for testing by the engineer.

A curved stairlift causes a more intensive installation as the track is required to follow the curves of the wall. Generally curved stairlifts are considerably more expensive to purchase due to increased installation time and more complex engineering required within the product.

A standard straight stairlift can normally be fitted in 1-2 hours depending on specification.

Insight Into Trading - What Percentage Of Your Trades Are Winners?

An Inquiry into Trading Systems, Money Management and the Human Psyche
At a recent seminar, I got involved in an interesting discussion with other attendees centered on trading success. More specifically, the percentage of successful trades and the percent of accuracy you should realistically expect from trading.

For whatever reason, our minds tend to focus on accuracy as the primary way of evaluating a speculative endeavor. True to form, accuracy - our mental magnet of making money - has very little to do with finding success.

Reality - No Great Expectations
By and large, the record of the past teaches us that on balance, the investment newsletter writers (commodity, stock or mutual funds) don't do such a hot job. As a result, taking a quick peak at the advisors' percentage of accuracy in picking winning trades should prove to be at the very least - interesting.

In looking into this I primarily focused on: Of the small percentage of winning services, what was the accuracy percentage of these most profitable advisory services?

I arbitrarily selected the March 1993, January 1996, March 1997, May 1998 and June 1999. What follows are the figures for the most profitable advisors / service for that month and their percent of accuracy of all trades for the prior 12 months.

Mar 1993 Commodity Timing . . . $60,939 . . . 51%
Jan 1996 Moore Research . . . . $84,643 . . . 52%
Mar 1997 Turtle Talk. . . . . . $79,244 . . . 42%
May 1998 Commodity Timing . . . $90,430 . . . 47%
Jun 1999 Moore Research . . . . $102,605. . . 54%

A key point to remember is that these results are the "best of the best" for the above time periods. On average these services were right 49.2% of the time - our first indication that accuracy percentage doesn't necessarily have much to do with making money.

Consistent Winners
During the selected timeframe there were four advisors / services that substantially outperformed the others. In other words - they made money. Before we look at their figures, let me point out that none of the top four performers base their approach on the "magical and mystical" stuff like Gann, Elliot, Astrology and the like. In fact, advisor letters touting those methods have the worst performance. The winning letters are, by and large, trend followers to one degree or another.

With that in mind, here are the ones that I feel had the best performance. The market letters that had the most consistent and profitable performance and their percentage of winning trades. The dollar figures represent the money they made from their recommendations for the prior 12 months from each of the reporting dates listed above.

Top 4 Newsletters . . . . . . . . 5 Year Total Profits . . . % of Winners
Commodity Research Bureau . . . . . $158,840 . . . . . . . . 48%
Commodity Timing. . . . . . . . . . $224,239 . . . . . . . . 47%
Commodity Trend Service . . . . . . $214,858 . . . . . . . . 32%
Moore Research. . . . . . . . . . . $242,253 . . . . . . . . 51%

Clearly, the winners are not particularly accurate - just very profitable!

Now the question begs - What allows them to make money with what would appear on the surface as mediocre accuracy? The answer lies in one of the oldest adages on the street… let your profits run and cut your losses short. In terms of math, this simply means that their average profit per trade is substantially greater than their average loss.

The message should be clear and is one based on how real people did in real time and in real world trading - accuracy really doesn't matter all that much. On a side note, the next time someone tells you that all newsletters are a bunch of hot air you may want to show them the figures above.

Of course, the counterpart is that you must not take quick little profits. To succeed in this business you've got to hold on for large winning trades because as you can see by these real world examples - accuracy doesn't make you money.

How to Buy Sterling Silver Jewelry with Mother of Pearl - MOP

Exquisite Sterling Silver Jewelry with Mother of Pearl

Any piece of fine material used to beautify one's self is termed as jewelry. Jewelry can be carved out of almost anything and is made for nearly every body part. Jewelry was originally adorned by people who had some high standing in the society and thus is usually associated with superior worth. Sterling Silver Jewelry is one of the more precious jewelry types present in the market today.

Sterling silver jewelry, as the name suggests, is made from Sterling silver. The term sterling silver refers to 0.925 grade of silver that was discovered in England in the 13th century. Silver when fully work-hardened, slowly softens and re-crystallizes at room temperature. Thus, in order to give silver any shape and more importantly to maintain that shape, other metals or alloys are added that are harder and stronger. In the case of jewelry, the best-known alloy is produced when copper is mixed with silver to give it the desired strength. The composition is such that it is 92.5 percent silver and the rest is copper. Hence it is also sometimes called 0.925 silver or Sterling silver.

Sterling silver, when combined with Mother of Pearl, gives a unique touch, which is inherently priceless and is in great demand across the world. Mother of Pearl is basically a lining of a shell that is usually of the same color, composition and similar in quality as that of the other pearls that are produced. The combination of Mother of Pearl with Sterling silver is often used because it gives jewelry a complicated yet royal look.

Mother of Pearl gets its name from the age-old symbolism that is attached with it. It is considered to represent fertility, rebirth and also a motherly touch. The brilliant luster and the unmatched iridescence of this marvel of nature when combined with Sterling silver are suited for all skin types. It not just suits but also enhances the beauty within. The magic of this combination is that Sterling silver cannot be used for making other items and the same goes for Mother of Pearl, but when they are combined together, they turn out to be exquisite. Nowadays, innovation and creativity rule the world and in this case as well, the Sterling silver jewelry with studded Mother of Pearl comes in various forms and themes. Some companies dealing with this type of jewelry offer special custom made deals, wherein you can give your design or ornamental patterns.

In recent years, Sterling silver jewelry with Mother of Pearl has gained a lot of recognition and is usually associated with wealth and richness. Hence it is mainly a women's product that enhances her beauty beyond limit. So if you are in a mood to gift your loved one, a jewelry set and you have your eyes set on Sterling silver jewelry with Mother of Pearl in it, don't think twice.

Alcohol and Family

Throughout the centuries there have been countless stories of the destructive nature of alcohol. Virtually every historical document dealing with the ethics or morality of a nation warns against the abuse of alcohol. Even today, some nations and religious groups go so far as banning the use of alcohol altogether.

It is widely known what happens to the family unit that suffers with the disease of alcoholism. Whether the alcoholic is mother or father, son or daughter, they are a raging hurricane that mercilessly plows through, destroying the lives of everyone in their path. Luckily today, there are places an alcoholic can go to get the help they need and get their lives back on track.

There is some speculation as to who may be prone to becoming an alcoholic. One theory is the predisposition of particular genes in DNA passed down from the parent. It is assumed if the "potential" alcoholic is lacking particular genes, they have a greater chance of becoming alcoholic. In this sense, alcoholism could be classified as a hereditary disease, passing down from generation to generation. But no one knows for sure what makes a person an alcoholic.

The disease of alcoholism and the family is still a very secretive thing in our society today. Most of us have had friends, if not ourselves, who have had/ do have an alcoholic parent or family member. This secret isn't usually shouted from the rooftops but kept under lock and key and hidden away. No one is ever usually too proud to have an alcoholic in their family.

The alcoholic can be an enigma; one moment calm, loving, peaceful and then the next moment (with or without a few drinks) full of rage, hateful and warring. Like a flipping coin, you may never know how it's going to end up. Some like to call it the Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde syndrome. This can cause fear and insecurity in a family that is already on edge and walking on eggshells.

When drinking, the alcoholic can be a loathsome creature who may be physically and/or emotionally abusive; the cause of social embarrassment, predatory, aggressive, the list goes on. They can also be the complete opposite, isolating themselves and being antisocial. They may be emotionally unavailable, extremely depressed and full of self-pity. Sadly these behaviors can continue on for months, years, and if they never seek help, for the rest of their lives.

The alcoholic is usually the center of attention for the family, needing attention and rarely contributing or giving back and always in trouble or in a crisis. Over time, this wears deeply on the family members and, in a sense, they become sick themselves. If the alcoholic is having a good day, the family is having a good day. If the alcoholic is having a bad day, the family is having a bad day. This is codependence which commonly develops among family members of an alcoholic.

Luckily there are support groups for family members who live, or have lived, with an alcoholic. There are numerous programs available like: Al Anon for family members of an alcoholic; Ala-teen for teenagers of alcoholics and ACoA for adult children of alcoholics. If you have lived with or do live with an alcoholic, there are others like you who now live happy and purposeful lives. You are not alone.

If you would like more information on alcohol and drug addiction, you can find it here: Alcohol Rehab.

Patrick McLemore is a recovering alcoholic and addict. Patrick has worked with the Manor House Recovery Center for the last two years providing guidance to numerous recovering alcoholics and addicts.

Living with an alcoholic is a very fragile existence, the relationship always undermined by a breach of trust or a potential breach of trust. Find out at http://www.livingwithanalcoholic.org on how to deal with it.

Going Green without Spending Green

We have this mistaken idea that to go green, we have to spend green dollars. Well, actually, you do not need to strain your budget just to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle. In fact, you will be fattening up your wallets with these tips on going green without spending your green dollars. And trust us, these ways are easy, effective and convenient.

Reduce Food Waste

Your grocery bill may constitute more than 50 percent of your total household bills. Thus, any and all efforts to reduce food waste will add up to big benefits to your pockets and to the environment for many reasons. You can achieve this end by:

* Reducing your food consumption in terms of shopping for groceries.
* Using leftovers for new dishes and enforcing a no-dregs policy
* Planning meals in advance to avoid too many leftovers

Use Heaters Wisely

We are so dependent on hot water for many of our needs from washing our bodies to washing our dishes and clothes. Well, go green by choosing cold water for many activities in the house. Start by taking cold showers when the weather permits instead of hot tub baths. Then progress into using unheated tap water for washing your hands, dishes and clothes. Studies have shown that tap water is just as effective in killing germs as hot water. The trick is in washing your hands properly for 20 seconds, soaking the clothes for 30 minutes to remove stubborn dirt and washing off the dregs on the eating utensils before placing on a full dishwasher.

Unplug the Appliances

You can save as much as 10-15 percent of your electricity bill simply by unplugging the cords from their sockets when these are not in use. This is because so-called phantom electricity does not flow from the grid into your appliances. And speaking of appliances, you can save money by either buying ones with the Energy Star logo or ones that have been refurbished. Of course, make sure that the refurbished appliances are also energy-efficient. You ought to save money in the long run instead of sticking to your run-down appliances. However, do recycle said old appliances with the manufacturers or with the recycling centers.

Use Recycled Materials for Your Home

As much as possible, use recycled materials for your home. You can purchase scrap lumber from hardware stores, vintage wood and glass panels from garage sales and old houses, utensils and ornaments made of recycled materials from green stores and sites, to name a few options. You will often spend less on these items and yet get as much mileage as you possibly can from them. Better yet, you should adopt the motto of environmentalists everywhere - reduce, reuse and recycle. You will soon find that indeed being eco-friendly has its rewards for you and for your children's children.

Starting today, take a look around your home and see what else needs to be done to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Read about ways to start going green in the kitchen and more about the different ways to recycle.

Defining A Better Fit For Your Data Center Outsourcing Needs

The key to a successful outsourcing relationship is identifying a partner who can provide cost-effective solutions with the relevant resources and the ability to adjust services as business changes over time. Outsourcing decisions should be made by examining whether an organization is effective and efficient in providing a function that is strategic to the business. IT operations and support organizations are often viewed as an overhead that provides a commodity function that can be easily and safely outsourced. However, IT operations and support functions may be core capabilities because flexible, stable and reliable operations are the foundation for enterprise applications and business processes. IT operations outsourcing proposals are often evaluated and executed with inadequate information about services and costs. The result may be an agreement that does not define the full set of services required, does not result in expected cost savings, and requires retaining a significant number of internal staff to close service gaps and monitor the outsourcer. Good business decisions are based on understanding services and costs, the impact of change, and the risk associated with IT services that do not meet business requirements.

What Should Be Outsourced?
Data center outsourcing services are one of the most mature IT service categories available in the market. In a mature market, one should expect external service providers (ESPs’) to understand market dynamics — as well as client’s wants and needs — and invest in making their services better, faster and less expensive. No “one size fits all” exists for outsourcing. The build-or-buy decision will be based on different criteria for different organizations.

Sourcing decisions may also be influenced to a great extent by factors such as politics and culture and economic stability. Therefore a long-term decision — typically, five to 10 years requires an ability to align IT with business goals, identify gaps in IT capabilities, understand the capabilities available in the market and determine how in-house and supplier responsibilities can best be shared.

Back in the USSA - An Economic Stimulus Update

Back in the United (and Stimulated) States of America. Woo-hoo! After over three weeks of overseas travel, as well as domestic vacation where I just didn't really care what was going on, I've returned to reality and removed my head from the sand trap to take a look at where we are in our quest toward economic recovery and growth. However, I'm tempted to run back to the airport and buy a one-way ticket to Anywhere But Here.

I was expecting to come back to a country pumped with more stimulants than a first grade honors English class, but what I've found is something that more closely resembles a mandated Saturday morning alcohol awareness seminar that even a well operated meth lab couldn't bring to attention. What happen to our $800 billion worth of Adderall and Ritalin that was promised to bring our sleepy, dreamy economy back on its toes and actually participating in the 7:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance? Well, I decided to do a little research and see where we're at.

Just to evaluate where we are, I found that the US unemployment rate is at a gaudy 9.5%. However, construction industry unemployment according to economajic.com stands at 17.4%, however this is off it's recent high of 21.4% in February '09 which is at least movement in the right direction.

As far as construction billings go, the data is not so promising. We're still at declining levels and while the decline seemed to be slowing for a while, the latest numbers are showing an increase in spending declines. Econoday.com provides the following chart of construction spending for the past two years. So what about our much anticipated and much needed stimulus package? Well, the following chart from Recovery.gov shows the timeline for funds being made available for the next seven years. The majority of this money will be dolled out in fiscal year 2010 which starts October 1, 2009, so we've yet to see the flood gates open and we are painfully awaiting its arrival like an avid West Virginia kayaker would before opening day of Gauley season where the dam controlled flow of the Gauley River is allowed to run wild.

So why does the majority of this money come out in FY 2o1o and not immediately? In my opinion, it's an effort to avoid fraud and corruption that could easily be associated with a massive flood of federal money into a greedy and hurting economy. However, this is still a federal spending plan that dwarfs anything preceding it, so a little patience now may pay off in the long-run. I'm hopeful that this plan will not only provide a solid backlog of construction work for the next decade but will also provide some much needed infrastructure and capital improvement that will help people work and live better which could also help our country economically.

Just keep chanting - The USSA ain't far away.

Download iTunes Tips - How to Download MP3s to Your iPod

Have you ever wanted to download iTunes MP3s to your iPod? Maybe you're a high school or college student attending multiple classes and you downloaded the MP3 audio of the lecture from the school's website. Or maybe, you were fortunate enough to have a great instructor who has provided you with an MP3 CD containing a lecture you missed.

Mom has called and wants you home this weekend to celebrate Grandma's 80th birthday knowing full well you have a midterm on Monday. A real dilemma. You need to keep Mom and Grandma happy, but you also need to study for Monday's mid term. I can't help with Mom and Grandma, but putting MP3's of class lectures into your iPod so you can listen to them while you're driving back and forth to school is a snap! I"ll tell you why. As an MP3 user, you already play audio files from your favorite musicians with Apple iTunes on your computer. These same files can be copied or downloaded from your PC to your iPod.

I'll tell you how. The beauty of iTunes is that it keeps a database of the songs, lectures, or any other digital recordings you have downloaded from the internet or uploaded from CD's. This digital "database" is called your library. Sounds complicated right? Well, it's not. Here's a little known fact about iTunes. The iTunes database is basically just an electronic pointer to where you have stored your MP3 audio flies. If you mistakenly add the same digital recordings more than once, the programming logic just updates the pointer.

If you have MP3 audio files on a CD or DVD, copy them first to your hard drive. This is especially smart if you use a laptop. Ever have a time where you wanted to listen to a favorite CD on the road or at Starbucks. Then you realized you left the CD at home and had not yet ripped them to your hard drive. Unfortunately, I have made that same mistake too many times to ever want to own up to it. Here is a very important reminder important when ripping music to your hard drive. Make sure you establish a logical filing system for your MP3's so you can tell iTunes where to retrieve the data at a later date.

From the main menu under file, select add file to library to add one, or maybe a few MP3's or select add folder to library to add all the MP3 files in a folder (or directory for Windows users). Shazaammm....your new files are added to your library. Finally, synchronize our iPod and listen to your new additions.

The Future On SEO For Bloggers!

You write a blog religiously every day or so. You provide informative, interesting content for your loyal readers. You’ve even got a couple of affiliate links in there, too. But is this enough to get great search engine results for your efforts?

Probably not. Sure, you’ll get listed with the search engines easily. But without a top twenty listing at one of the majors (Google, Yahoo! or MSN), you won’t have traffic, literally, banging down your door.

In order to get better search engine results you need to make sure you are using the right keywords (and know how to use them), have links pointed your way and regularly check the results of your hard work. Here’s how.

Choosing Appropriate Keywords

Do you know what search terms your visitors are using to find you? Most blogging sites give you the option of checking up to see just how people found you. If you don’t have this feature available, hop over to http://www.statcounter.com/ and install their free service on your blog immediately.

Next, research those keywords. Visit Overture’s free site (http://inventory.overture.com/) and type in the most generic of the terms people are using to find your blog. You’ll get a list of related keywords used at a major search engine in the past month. Although it is an oversimplification of the search engine optimization process, try and stick to the more unusual but natural-sounding keywords as your top picks.

Putting Keywords in the Right Places

Once you’ve picked a keyword that applies directly to your blog, make sure to incorporate it into the following portions of one complete blog posting:

# The title;
# The first sentence;
# Each header (if you have any);
# Once a paragraph; and
# The last sentence.

If you have any links to outside sources, use the same keyword as your link text where possible. Also, for each blog posting, try and pick a different (but related) keyword to use. Feel free to reuse keywords every 30-45 postings.

Submitting to Directories

Your third step is to take these keyword optimized blog postings and post them to the article and blog directories. Most of the search engines determine the relevancy of your blog by how many outside websites link directly to you; therefore, posting your blog entries (with a link back to your site in your resource blurb) is an easy and straightforward way of doing so.

Checking Your Progress

It may take a couple of days to see any results, so try and wait a week before you take a look at StatCounter. Have your hits increased at all? Are there any new search engine referrals?

To track your blog’s ascent up the search engine rankings for any given keyword, try Digital Point’s free Keyword Tracker Tool (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/). It is an excellent way of ensuring your blog positioning efforts are paying off.

With all blog postings, content is key. Without useful, interesting information that cannot be found elsewhere, your visitors won’t come back for more. Incorporate these simple search engine optimization techniques into your blogging practice however, and you’ll both keep the visitors you already have and dramatically increase your readership through high ranking search engine placement in no time.

Can Hypnosis Help to Eliminate Pain?

Pain is a subject that touches everyone. After all, it is a human condition from which we all suffer at one time or another. There are headaches, dental procedures, sports injuries, broken bones, soft-tissue injuries, and psychosomatic pain.

Research shows that 75% to 80% of all adults will experience lower back pain at some time in their lives. Approximately 40 million Americans suffer from arthritis pain and as many as 45 million suffer from chronic, recurring headaches. There are thousands of people every year who suffer the agony of surgical interventions and thousands more who endure the pain of debilitating or terminal illnesses.

All of this pain falls into two basic categories: (1) acute pain, which is of short duration and (2) chronic pain, which continues for weeks, months or years.

Most people respond to pain - whether acute or chronic - by taking drugs of some kind. But drugs are often a temporary solution.

What few people realize is that the ancient art of hypnosis offers a safe, effective alternative for reducing sensitivity to pain.

Hypnosis has been shown effective in the management of various types of pain. Besides providing an effective solution for maladies such as headaches and acute injuries, hypnosis offers a unique solution for those suffering from chronic conditions like back pain and arthritis as well as intermediate and advanced stages of cancer. Studies show that patients with chronic diseases require fewer painkillers to achieve pain relief when they practice hypnosis. These same patients exhibit fewer signs of anxiety and experience greater comfort during medical procedures.

Hypnosis also has been shown to be effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy patients.

The most effective approach for acute pain appears to be the use of hypnotic suggestions focusing on anxiety reduction and minimizing the importance of the pain. For chronic pain, it is more effective to confront the pain directly under hypnosis, dealing with both the pain's physical and psychological effects.

Another area where hypnosis offers significant positive results is in dealing with pre- and post-operative patients. Using hypnosis in preparation for surgery has been shown to reduce the experience of pain during surgery, resulting in the need for less anesthetics. Hypnosis as a pain management tool with surgical patients also has been shown to reduce nausea and greatly increase the recovery rate in most patients, thereby truncating the length of time spent in the hospital. (That creates another rarely mentioned positive result: reduced medical costs!)

But efficacy and lower medical expenses are not the only positives related to the use of hypnosis for pain management. This modality has no dangerous side effects. Unlike medications, hypnosis does not become less effective with use and does not require stronger and stronger doses to cope with pain. While patients may have to ingest costly medications several times a day for years, they have the potential for reducing or eliminating their pain in just a few hypnotic sessions for significantly less cost.

Does hypnosis always work? In the area of pain control, everyone can be helped to SOME degree. There are essentially five categories into which subjects fall:

1. Those who find total and permanent relief.
2. Those that have a decrease in the severity of pain.
3. Those who experience pain relief initially, but who need occasional reinforcement.
4. Those that experience intermittent relief.
5. Those that still have pain, but feel 10-30% less pain than before.

What accounts for these differences in relief? The answer appears to be the patient's susceptibility to hypnosis - the level of relaxation reached during the hypnotic sessions. The deeper the relaxation, the more effective the pain reduction.

Certainly, no treatment for pain - whether chemical, physical or psychological - is effective all the time. However, hypnosis has shown over and over again that it can help people reduce or eliminate both acute and chronic pain. Best of all, it works its magic without any side effects.

As a safe, effective alternative for reducing sensitivity to pain, hypnosis is second to none.
